“You will be nothing once I take your bending away.”
Korra woke up in a cold sweat, panting heavily.
For the past few nights she had been plagued by nightmares, those in which Amon took away her bending, and then slowly killed the people she loved.
Too shaken to try to go back to sleep, she pulled on her boots and stepped out of her room, silently moving through the house until she came to a stop outside, on the moonlit steps of the main house on Air Temple Island.
A significantly shirtless Bolin was there in front of her, leaning back on his elbows and staring up at the sky.
“You couldn’t sleep either?” Korra asked quietly, hugging herself tightly.
Bolin turned with a start, his eyes wide.
“Holy crap you scared me,” he said, feeling his heart rate increase erratically, though from being startled or something else, he couldn’t tell.
Korra waited for Bolin to answer her question.
He sighed.
“No, I couldn’t sleep,” he murmured lowly, “I guess I haven’t been able to since…. Well, you know…”
Korra nodded quietly.
“Maybe,” she began, “Maybe if-“
